Keith Duffee

Having a passion for building since I was a young boy growing up in Western WI, I knew as soon as I was a senior in high school building them myself that I found the path I was destined to be on.
At age 22, I started working as a job supervisor in the Twin Cities overseeing residential homes and commercial buildings. After a few years I decided it was time to start my own journey and went off to build houses. For the next 10 years I built new homes in Western WI around the lakes and in the country sides.
Wanting to challenge myself, I started building large multi-family housing units. In 4 years we built over 1 million square feet of buildings; as well as built four 46 unit hotels. It was a great challenge and a fun business, however I decided I liked the 1-on-1 customer experience and wanted to go back to building single family homes.
In 2016 I took a position as Vice President for a small company out of Stillwater, MN. I started there with 2 employees building around 20 houses a year. The owner gave me the opportunity to oversee his business and I ran with it. By 2019, we were building an average of 150 homes per year. They now employ 17 full-time staff and have around 84 sub-contractors. Earlier in 2020, I decided it was time to turn the keys back over and get back to my passion of building homes and having the one on one contact with the homeowners, which led me to start Currahee Custom Homes.

Since 6th grade, I knew my calling was going to be something home related. I designed my own floor plan for my dream home and was instantly hooked. I sure wish I could see that floor plan today to compare it to my current design thoughts!
After a short time in consumer banking and realizing it wasn’t the sweet spot, I got my real estate license in Minnesota & Wisconsin thinking that selling homes would do the trick. Shortly after, I had built my first home and picked blue siding, green kitchen walls, and sea salt blue paint for my master bedroom. Between my real estate license, experience of building my own home, and an extensive wealth of HGTV knowledge - I was ready to rock & roll. I stumbled upon a job with a local national sized builder as a new home specialist. I was able to take my love for interior design and combine it with my business and real estate background for the perfect fit! Throughout the years since then, I’ve represented many homebuyers in their new construction transaction as well as led them through the design & selection process.
Having built my own home (multiple at that) I know first hand how difficult navigating the process can be. My extensive background in new construction makes it easy to guide my clients throughout the duration of their build.
